The last section of a book, containing reference information.
Items that are typically part of the back matter are the appendix, index, glossary, and bibliography.
Items that may be part of either the body matter or the back matter include the epilogue, afterword, and any postscripts.
A colophon may be part of either the front matter or the back matter.
